The pension triple lock maybe abandoned again by those in charge of this Tory tragedy tenure.
These people, pensioners, have paid National Insurance contributions for, I believe, 35 years. They then get a repayment for as long as they live. Not all get the full benefit therefore as some die early after retirement. That's a saving.
The allowance of those who survive diminishes in real purchasing power over the years as inflation kicks in at various levels. To keep up with increasing costs for them is difficult. Pensioners contributions should have been invested by the Government to cover the cost of their progressive repayments. That's good business sense.
On the other hand we have a faction of society that has or will not contribute any finance to the National pot. They only take.
To be sure, there are members of our society who need help because they cannot help themselves so they need community help. That's fine and this should continue but perhaps who deserves payment should be monitored more closely. It appears to the ordinary person that some people are taking advantage of the ruling party's gullibility as they allow some people to milk the system.
Pensioners are easy targets. They'll stop complaining when they die!
Those on benefits will be around alot longer so who are you, as a political party, going to try to please and thus keep your own healthy income?
That's politics.
